The site is being upgraded to the latest version of WordPress and some other new things are being added. The work involves first upgrading to WordPress 2.6 (which somehow ate the Category table during the update process), then putting up a new template, then qual’ing out all the plug-ins again, then adding new plug-ins (like the one for the fancy text on the story titles – nice, huh?), and then your basic clean-up and tuning.

Stand by. Pray. Whatever.

I wrote a little script which rifles through the database and draws a nice gallery of every wallpaper on the site. There may still be some bugs, but it seems to be working OK. Be warned it’s a little bandwidth intensive as it has to draw over 100 thumbnail images.

Recently I’ve noticed in the server logs that some of you are looking for images which aren’t there. Possibly this is due to the way I number things; often designs get published apparently out of order: the #3 image may come out before the #1, and there may be no #2 at all.

Each design takes as long as it takes. And sometimes I put one aside for weeks or months even if it’s not coming out the way I envisioned it, or if it will take a lot of detail work that I may not have time for at the moment.

But the bottom line is: there’s nothing hidden. There’s no pay site. It is what it is. So there’s no point trying to guess at the URL’s for images I haven’t published yet. If it’s not on the site, it’s not on the server.

There’s so much great stuff coming out for WordPress, so I’ve tweaked this site some more. The header images now cycle through 8 different pictures. And a bunch of things on the back-end for keywords, file management, etc. etc. … Open Source Rules!

Another year, another round of new technology. The WordPress blogging system is so convenient and flexible to use that I’m trying it out to host my images.

Note that some of the earlier wallpapers I designed have been enhanced since their original publishing to take advantage of new filters, so even if you have downloaded wallpapers from me before, you may want to check the old designs for improvements.
